Job Description Summary

Services Regional Application Engineer – Middle East & Africa will drive services engineering growth in power plant services through technical leadership on gas turbine and plant upgrades across various countries in the Middle East and Africa regions. In this role he/she will provide primary technical solutioning support for the installed base customers and the GE commercial/sales teams in MEA region to drive cross-functional business results in upgrades for contractual and transactional upgrade opportunities and contract renegotiation activities. Additionally, this role will be responsible for connecting the regional GT team with the Services Applications Centers of Excellence team to appropriately leverage the technical capabilities of the broader Product Line and Engineering organizations

Job DescriptionJob Description

Provides technical expertise and develops technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO process while interfacing with the commercial team. Possesses an understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies. To include 'ITO': Technical analysis of client need: definition and optimization of the products; scope (description); schedule; industrial scheme; cost, considering contract and internal policies and procedures. Calculation of plant, system and equipment performance and efficiency. Documentation of technical specifications & costing elements for further contract execution phases.

Support customer meetings and commercial teams with technical leadership, including presentations, development of customer solutions, responding to customer requests, conferences, and any other support to drive growth.

Interface with engineering teams to ensure support of customer requests are fulfilled.

Integrate with the regional commercial leadership to provide technical support on sales strategies with upgrade opportunities.

Partner with and influence other global engineering organizations to support the regional needs

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Proven years of experience in Gas turbine design, services, repair, or reliability engineering demonstrated gas turbine and/or combined cycle engineering experience.

Experience working with the sales team and directly with customers in the Middle East and Africa region.

Good ability to motivate others and achieve results within matrix environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Good leadership/interpersonal skills

Good technical knowledge of GE Gas Power services product offerings

Developed network of contacts within Sales, Product Line, and Engineering organizations

French speaking

Demonstrated commitment to Lean operations and methods.
