Transit Manager

A multinational company operating across Europe and Africa, specialized in logistics, international trade, and distribution. The group supports and manages complex supply chain operations across various regions, including several key locations in North Algeria. As part of its continuous development and expansion, the company is seeking to reinforce its operational team with a skilled and motivated Transit Manager. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Transit Manager to handle, supervise and optimize all transit, customs and import/export procedures.

The selected candidate will ensure full compliance with Algerian customs regulations, efficient coordination with all stakeholders, and smooth execution of all shipment processes. 

Key Responsibilities 

Transit & Customs Operations

• Oversee all import/export procedures and ensure timely customs clearance.

• Prepare, verify and validate customs documents (DAU, BL, invoices, certificates, etc.).

• Manage compliance with Algerian customs regulations.

Coordination & Stakeholder Communication

• Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, port authorities and transporters.

• Coordinate with procurement, logistics, finance and other internal departments.

• Handle and resolve customs-related issues or operational delays.

Documentation & Reporting

• Keep updated and accurate documentation for all shipments.

• Maintain transit files and prepare regular operational reports.

• Suggest improvements to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Algerian customs and transit procedures.

• Solid experience in import/export documentation.

• Excellent coordination and organizational capabilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or related field.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in transit, customs or freight operations.

• Fluency in English, French and Arabic is preferred.
