We are looking for an organized and proactive Transit Assistant to support daily administrative and operational transit tasks.
The successful candidate will assist in documentation preparation, shipment follow-up, coordination with stakeholders and compliance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation & Filing
Prepare and verify customs/transit documents (invoices, packing lists, BL, certificates).
Maintain organized and updated shipment files.
Update internal tracking systems and databases.
Operational Support
Follow up with freight forwarders, transit agents and transporters.
Assist with customs clearance coordination and issue resolution.
Report delays, discrepancies or documentation issues to the Transit Manager.
Internal Coordination
Communicate with procurement, logistics and finance departments.
Provide administrative assistance to ongoing transit operations.
Support reporting and documentation tasks.
Required Skills
Basic understanding of customs and transit procedures.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Attention to detail and reliability under tight timelines.
Teamwork and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade or related fields.
1 to 2 years of experience in customs, transit or logistics (preferred).
Knowledge of English, French and Arabic is an advantage.
