Primary Responsibilities :

• Install and configure Oracle databases on Linux operating systems

• Manage Linux servers hosting Oracle databases, including OS patching and updates

• Tune Linux kernel parameters for Oracle database optimization

• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations

• Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery

• Perform regular database maintenance tasks ( rebuilding indexes, updating statistics)

• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning, indexing strategies, and resource allocation

• Implement and maintain database security measures, including user authentication and authorization

• Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary patches

• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Recovery Manager)

• Manage archive logs and implement appropriate retention policies

• Monitor database growth and plan for future capacity needs

• Troubleshoot complex database issues, including deadlocks, resource contention, and I/O bottlenecks

• Work with application teams to optimize database interactions

• Responsible for providing day-to-day administration support and maintenance for Oracle EBS and databases

• Perform Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) apps DBA roles (patching, cloning, backup, and recovery…..)

• Perform application tuning and performance monitoring

• Regular database maintenance activities (tablespace management, purging logfiles……)

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology

• 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with at least 3 years in a Linux environment

• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, SQL, and PL/SQL

• Proficiency in Linux administration, including shell scripting

• Experience with performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions

• Experience in managing Oracle databases that run on EBS applications.
