An important company in the construction field is seeking a HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Electrical Duty Holder who will ensure electrical safety across all construction activities. This role includes overseeing the compliance of electrical work with safety regulations and risk management practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce safety procedures related to electrical installations.
- Monitor and inspect electrical work to ensure it meets safety standards.
- Identify electrical hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper safety training for electrical staff.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and report on safety compliance.
- Ensuring compliance with local and international electrical safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, BS 7671).
- Implementing and maintaining electrical safety procedures as per company HSE policies.
- Conducting risk assessments and ensuring electrical work meets safety standards.
Issuing and managing Permits to Work (PTW) for electrical tasks.
- Ensuring Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed for electrical isolation.
- Supervising work on live or high-voltage equipment to prevent accidents.
Overseeing routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Ensuring earthing, grounding, and circuit protection systems are functional.
- Identifying and addressing potential electrical hazards proactively.
Developing and implementing emergency response plans for electrical incidents.
- Investigating electrical accidents or near-misses and reporting findings.
- Ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
Maintaining records of electrical inspections, audits, and incidents.
- Preparing compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Job Experience: Minimum 5 years of working experience, 3 years of relevant working experience.
Job Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of electrical safety codes and regulations. Understanding of electrical circuits, distribution systems, grounding, and high/low voltage equipment. Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and failures. Knowledge of first aid, firefighting, and electrical incident response. Skills to investigate electrical accidents and implement corrective actions. Quickly resolving electrical and HSE-related issues.
