The Labor Relations Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining effective relationships between the company and its workforce, ensuring compliance with labor laws, company policies, and contractual obligations. The role supports the resolution of employee grievances, promotes positive employee engagement, and ensures smooth coordination between management and labor teams to maintain productivity and workplace harmony at project sites or operational facilities.
Act as the primary point of contact for labor-related matters at site or operational level.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, company HR policies, and employment regulations.
Handle employee grievances, complaints, and disciplinary matters in a fair and timely manner.
Conduct investigations related to labor disputes and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with Site HR and Management to implement disciplinary procedures in line with company policies.
Maintain proper documentation of labor cases, warnings, investigations, and resolutions.
Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
Ensure that all employees are informed of company policies, rules, and code of conduct.
Monitor workforce attendance, absenteeism, and behavioral trends and report concerns to management.
Facilitate communication between management and workforce representatives.
Assist in organizing labor meetings, awareness sessions, and conflict resolution discussions.
Support compliance audits related to labor and workforce management.
Coordinate with government authorities when required for labor-related issues.
Ensure that labor accommodation and welfare standards comply with regulatory and company requirements.
Prepare periodic labor relations reports including grievances, disciplinary cases, and workforce statistics.
Ensure that 90% of labor-related cases are resolved within the established timeframe.
Support workforce mobilization and demobilization processes.
Assist in the development and implementation of labor relations policies and procedures.
Promote awareness of HSE standards and company Integrated Management System (IMS) policies among workers.
Monitor workplace morale and proactively address potential disputes.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive labor matters.
Support training sessions on workplace conduct, ethics, and compliance.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and regulations
Experience in handling labor disputes and employee relations in construction or industrial environments.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent communication skills (multilingual ability is an advantage).
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism.
Fluent English is a MUST
Minimum 5–8 years of total experience.
At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in labor relations or HR within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
