Job Summary

The General Foreman is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring day-to-day construction activities on site to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and approved plans. The role provides leadership to site teams, oversees labor productivity, and ensures compliance with quality, safety, and schedule requirements to support timely project delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of site labor, subcontractors, and tradesmen.

• Ensure all construction activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.

• Monitor and enforce safety standards, HSE policies, and site regulations among workers.

• Review work progress, report daily activities, and highlight any issues or delays to the Site Engineer or Construction Manager.

• Coordinate with QA/QC team to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials on site.

• Organize daily work plans and allocate resources efficiently to meet project schedules.

• Ensure that only approved revisions of drawings, method statements, and work instructions are implemented on site.

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and daily site instructions with the workforce.

• Monitor labor productivity and report any discrepancies or delays.

• Assist in resolving on-site technical or operational issues in coordination with engineers.

• Ensure proper documentation of site activities, daily logs, and material usage records.

• Inspect incoming materials for compliance with project specifications before use.

• Ensure that work inspections pass during the first submission by maintaining high-quality standards.

• Support site mobilization, setup, and demobilization activities as required.

• Coordinate with other foremen and site supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and task sequencing.

• Assist in implementing quality control and HSE initiatives on site.

• Support site management in manpower allocation, attendance monitoring, and labor coordination.

• Conduct pre-task briefings and review site risks for each activity.

• Ensure effective communication between site labor, supervisors, and management.

• Provide input for progress reports, snag lists, and project closeout documentation.

• Train and mentor junior foremen and site supervisors.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site productivity and safety compliance.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and method statements.

• Hands-on experience supervising civil, structural, or mechanical construction activities.

• Knowledge of HSE regulations and safe work practices.

• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage large teams and work in a fast-paced site environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or project reporting software is an advantage.

• English is an added value

Job Experience

• Minimum 07 years of total construction experience.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a foreman or site supervisor in large-scale projects.

• Experience in Civil, Structural, or MEP works is preferred.

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
