Main Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership & Governance
· Establish and maintain regional governance for project execution, including processes, KPIs, and performance cadences.
· Oversee all project managers and project engineers to ensure compliance with operational standards, project methodologies, and risk controls.
· Implement rigorous project portfolio reviews, including cost control, schedule adherence, change management, quality and customer satisfaction.
· Ensure early identification and mitigation of operational risks across countries and clusters.
2. Centralized Financial Reporting & Performance Management
· Own the centralized financial reporting engine for all project activities across the region.
· Consolidate and validate project financials (costs, revenues, cash, margins, forecasts).
· Standardize reporting cadence with simplified forecast dashboards, variance analyses, and executive summaries.
· Drive accountability among project managers for financial accuracy, forecast quality, and profitability improvements.
· Lead lifecycle margin reviews and corrective action plans for underperforming projects.
3. People Leadership – Project Managers & Engineers
· Provide direct oversight, coaching, and development for project managers and project engineers across the region.
· Ensure proper resource allocation, workload balancing, competency development, and succession planning.
· Foster a culture of execution discipline, continuous improvement, safety, and cross-country knowledge sharing.
4. Deployment of Strategic Initiatives
· Lead the rollout of strategic transformation programs, including operational excellence, digital reporting, standard work processes, and performance tools.
· Coordinate with global and regional stakeholders to implement new methodologies, training, and system enhancements.
· Monitor adoption, impact, and long-term sustainability of all initiatives.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Serve as the operational interface between Regional Management, Front Offices, ETO, Supply Chain, Services, and Global PMO teams.
· Support tendering teams with success factors & lessons learned and feedback loops to improve cost estimations and risk anticipation.
· Ensure efficient handover from tendering to execution and alignment through the full project lifecycle.
6. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
· Participate in customer project reviews, progress meetings, and escalations when critical issues arise.
· Strengthen customer satisfaction through improved execution quality, communication, and delivery reliability.
· Lead escalations and recovery plans for high-risk or strategically important projects.
Profile:
· Commercial profile with excellent understanding of PROJECTS & EQUIPMENT business, customers (end users and EPC’s buying needs/patterns etc)
· Strong background in data analytics, trend dynamics and finance
· Good knowledge of Africa markets, business & customers
· 10+ years relevant experience in Solutions (Tendering or Project Managament etc) and a Degree in Engineering / Business Management
· Strong background in people and talent management experience
· Strong Negotiation skills & Ability to build networks, internally and externally
· High level of proficciency in Excel and Powerpoint
