The primary purpose of the position is to manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance and accounting department. This includes managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing financial statements, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information
2. Key Job Responsibilities:
Bank reconciliations
Preparation of month and year-end closing accounts
Preparation of monthly reports for submission to group finance
Posting Provisions & Accruals
Preparation of month-end journal entries and reconciliations
Monthly stock reconciliations
Assist in stock takes
Support local statutory requirements eg. VAT/WHT, tax returns, etc.
Prepare VAT Reconciliation
Monthly Entries and posting invoices
Daily monitoring of Cash flow and Banking activity
Payment / Credit note issue – responsible for invoices and credit notes
· Intercompany reconciliations
· AR and AP management
· Assist in the implementation of IT solutions
· Ad hoc project support as needed
· Other responsibilities as required.
3. Experience & Qualifications:
· degree in the field
· At least 5 years experience in a finance and accounting position supporting a manufacturing operation
· Be technically minded with high attention to detail
· The successful candidate must be proficient with ERPs, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
· Proficient in English
