-Role Objective:
To supervise and ensure the reliable operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems for gas turbines and compressors in oil & gas facilities, with mandatory expertise in GE control platforms (Mark VIe, Mark VI, Mark V).
-Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and tuning of control and instrumentation systems on turbomachinery (gas turbines, compressors, auxiliaries).
- Lead and manage a team of C&I technicians and contractors during scheduled maintenance, commissioning, and emergency interventions.
- Ensure full functionality and integrity of GE Mark V / Mark VI / Mark VIe control systems, including software diagnostics, I/O verification, firmware updates, and sequencing logic.
- Manage control loops,p/shutdown sequences, and turbine protection interlocks.
- Monitor system performance, alarms, and logs using GE Toolbox/ST or ControlST.
- Interface with OEMs (GE or others) for technical support, upgrades, and root cause analysis.
- Conduct loop checks, FAT/SAT, and performance testing.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, cause & effect charts, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE procedures and hazardous area instrumentation requirements (IECEx/ATEX).
- Coordinate with process, electrical, and mechanical teams to optimize turbomachinery performance.
Technical Expertise:
- Mandatory: Proven hands-on experience with GE Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe control systems
- Strong knowledge of control architectures, turbine sequencing, servo systems, and logic diagnostics
- Experience with Toolbox/ST, ControlST, CIMPLICITY, or equivalent HMI/SCADA platforms
- Solid understanding of field instrumentation: pressure, flow, vibration sensors, thermocouples, speed pickups, control valves
- Familiarity with rotating equipment (centrifugal compressors, gas turbines – Frame & Aeroderivative)
- Good understanding of IEC, ISA, API 670/612 standards and SIL implementation
-Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical or Automation Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in oil & gas, with at least 5 years on GE Mark V/VI/VIe systems
- Languages: Fluent in English (technical level required) – French and/or Arabic is a plus
- Certifications Preferred: BOSIET / H2S / OEM-specific GE training / ATEX
