About Us:

Salvo Grima Group operates in eight countries in Europe and Africa, specialising in international trade and travel retail. We supply and operate several Travel Retail Duty-Free outlets at airports and cruise ports across the Mediterranean region, including airports in Algiers and Oran. Our product range includes skincare, tobaccos, liquors, and more.

Role Summary:

Our Group is due to launch a new set of duty-free outlets at airports in Algeria and therefore requires an experienced sales professional to join as Shop Manager. The ideal candidate would be a highly sales-driven individual with strong communication and organizational skills.

Since our Duty-Free operations is 24/7, the ability to work additional or flexible hours and to travel at short notice is essential. Experience in sales involving retail or airport operations would be considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

Ø Sales and Performance Management

· Drive sales growth by setting clear objectives for each store and ensuring targets are met or exceeded.

· Handle customer transactions, including cash, card, and digital payments, efficiently and accurately.

· Analyse sales performance metrics and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.

· Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, average transaction values, and customer satisfaction.

Ø Team Leadership and Development

· Recruit, train, and mentor store supervisors and sales teams to ensure a high-performing workforce.

· Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

· Foster a positive, motivated, and customer-focused team culture.

· Organize team meetings and workshops to communicate goals, promotions, and best practices.

Ø Operational Management

· Oversee the daily operations of all retail outlets, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

· Manage inventory control, including stock levels, replenishment, and shrinkage prevention.

· Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.

· Maintain visual merchandising and store layouts in alignment with brand guidelines.

· Planning shift schedule for supervisors & sales team.

Ø Customer Experience

· Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered across all outlets.

· Address escalated customer complaints and resolve issues professionally and promptly.

· Promote customer loyalty programs and marketing initiatives to enhance customer engagement.

Ø Compliance and Standards

· Ensure compliance with duty-free and customs regulations, as well as local laws.

· Maintain high standards of health, safety, and security in all stores.

· Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical practices.

Ø Financial and Administrative Responsibilities

· Prepare and manage budgets for each store, controlling costs and optimizing resources.

· Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to financial targets.

· Generate and analyse financial reports, including sales forecasts, profit margins, and expense tracking.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in retail management, preferably in travel retail or luxury retail.

· Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.

· Sales Expertise: Deep understanding of retail operations, customer behaviour, and sales strategies.

· Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams and customers.

· Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret sales data and implement actionable strategies.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in retail management systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, ERP and inventory software.

· Languages: Fluency in English, French, and Arabic, additional languages are an asset in international environments.

· A clean police conduct

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience managing duty-free stores or outlets in an airport, port, or border area.

· Knowledge of international brands, luxury goods, and travel retail product categories (e.g., cosmetics, fragrances, spirits).

· Familiarity with customs regulations and tax-free sales processes.
