Position: IT Communication Engineer for Reggane Project

Job Objective

Responsible for managing, security and continuous improvement of telecom

services for Groupement Reggane, ensuring resilient, high-availability and secure

connectivity across all operational sites.

Drive telecom service improvements, with priority on the Industrial Network,

OSBL and GR5 environments, by applying AI and Generative AI tools to optimize

operations, automate monitoring and troubleshooting, support predictive

maintenance and improve operational efficiency.

HSE Responsibilities:

• Ensure Contractors comply with GRN HSE plans and requirements

• Awareness & commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety rules and

regulations as they apply to workplace safety and environmental aspects of

ICT

• Ensure compliance of Contractors with GRN HSE plans and requirements

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Telecom team activities:

o Implement team goals or objectives

Technical Responsibilities:

• IT Telecom systems:

• Responsible for maintaining Telecom systems operational at all GRN

locations:

o BdV, Base de Vie

o CPF (Central Processing Facilities)

o Rig sites

o OSBL Wells locations

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, using AIenabled analytics where applicable to anticipate failures, improve incident

detection and maximize telecom service availability.

• Provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of new

Telecom systems services, including hardware, software and related

infrastructure.

• Follow best practices into software and ITC infrastructure design and

management delivery

• Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing

innovation within the infrastructure. In order to identify requirements,

improve design and minimize maintenance needs of the Telecom systems

and telecommunication infrastructure.

• Participate in the definition and implementation of network security policies,

strategies, and procedures to guarantee data integrity. Make

recommendations on security policies, procedures and standards for

security systems and equipment implementation, maintenance, repair and

life cycle management.

• Apply AI tools to support network operations, automate monitoring and

troubleshooting workflows, analyze incidents, summarize technical logs,

produce operational insights and improve decision-making across telecom

infrastructure.

• Ensure Telecom services/systems monitoring and performance analysis

o Real-Time OSBL wells monitoring

o Real-Time Telecom services/equipment status

o Telecom links bandwidth consumption

o AI-assisted anomaly detection, operational log analysis and

predictive maintenance indicators for telecom services and

equipment.

• Telecom and Network Cybersecurity:

o Administratively ensures that the Telecom and communication

requirements of other departments within the company are met and

that the Department complies with the policies and procedures

approved by the company.

o Develop, implement and maintain cybersecurity procedures to

protect telecom systems from unauthorized access, misuse,

vulnerabilities, operational disruption and environmental risks.

o Define, enforce and regularly review security policies, standards and

procedures for telecom, LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, satellite and

radio communication systems.

o Implement network perimeter security according to cybersecurity

best practices, including firewall hardening, access control, VPN

management, segmentation and secure remote connectivity.

o Telecom architecture with a secure DMZ for external services

o Secure the interfaces between telecom, corporate and

SCADA/industrial networks by restricting unnecessary access,

reducing exposure and supporting resilient connectivity for critical

business operations.

o Identify vulnerabilities, assess security risks, support incident

response activities and coordinate remediation actions to ensure

secure and resilient telecom operations.

o Ensure routing protocols are operational

o Design/Provide Quality of Service (QoS) for critical low bandwidth

links (VSAT).

o Telecom WAN links backup solution with multi-links, active-active

architecture.

• Coordinate the Telecom Service Companies, in order to ensure network and

telecommunication services availability at all locations (BdV, CPF, well

locations, etc.)

• Endorse and approve technical aspects of procurement of equipment &

services including preparation of requisitions, call for bids (CFB)

documentation, technical bid evaluation, vendor data review, scope

development and management, and problem solving.

• Analysis of business requirements and evaluation of hardware, software

capabilities and compatibility to determine optimum IT Telecom solutions

and configurations.

• Ensure all required project documents are available and updated.

• Prepare all documentation for the Telecommunication Architecture. Update

all documentation with every Telecom architecture/design modification.

• Elaborate and update Telecom maintenance documentation, which includes

configuration, diagrams and topology.

• Service Performance & SLA Management:

o Define, monitor and report on Telecom service performance through

agreed SLAs and KPIs, ensuring high availability, reliability and

quality of service across all locations.

• Continuous Improvement:

o Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing service

performance, identifying optimization opportunities, and

implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance

efficiency and user satisfaction.

• Vendor Management:

o Manage relationships with telecom service providers and vendors,

including performance monitoring, contract compliance, and service

delivery governance to ensure agreed service levels and cost

efficiency.

• Business Continuity & Resilience:

o Define, implement and maintain Telecom continuity and disaster

recovery plans to ensure service resilience, minimizing operational

risks and guaranteeing business continuity in critical environments.

• Availability to work on a rotation scheme (28x28 regimes).

• Able to manage work teams, including their daily activities, planning and reports.

• Perform troubleshooting as required. As such, leads problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.

• Demonstrated experience of Telecom systems such as Cisco and Alcatel Switches, Routers and Firewall configuration.

• Mandatory practical knowledge of AI and Generative AI, with proven ability to apply these tools to optimize network operations, automate monitoring and troubleshooting, support predictive maintenance, analyze incidents and improve telecom operational efficiency.

• Mandatory cybersecurity knowledge, including protection of telecommunications networks, LAN/WAN, wireless, VoIP, satellite and radio communication systems, firewall and VPN management, vulnerability identification, secure connectivity and security incident response.

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an ICT or Telecommunications Enginesupporting large-scale networks, servers, endpoint systems and communicadevices in complex operational environments. Demonstrated experience witCisco switches, routers, firewall configuration, VPNs, backup and disaster recovery. Mandatory practical knowledge of cybersecurity and Generative Aapplied to telecom operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, predictive maintenance and incident analysis.

• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry (Exploration & Production Offshore aOnshore projects) Other Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as ITIL, PMP, cloud certifications, cybersecurity certifications and AI/Generative AI training are an advantage; practical knowof cybersecurity and Generative AI is mandatory. Languages proficiency
