The Role

We are seeking a versatile Full Stack Developer to join our team. You will be taking ownership of features from database schema design all the way to the frontend UI. You will work on both modernizing existing architectures (Laravel) and building new, highly interactive interfaces using modern React paradigms.

Our Tech Stack

• Frontend: React, React Router (formerly Remix), HTML5/CSS3 (Tailwind CSS)

• Backend: PHP, Laravel ecosystem

• Database: PostgreSQL / MySQL

• Infrastructure: Linux (Fedora/Ubuntu/Debian), Docker, Open-source CI/CD tooling

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable front-end and back-end code.

• API Design: Create secure, fast, and scalable RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL) to power our front-end applications.

• Architecture & Refactoring: Help maintain and progressively refactor legacy Laravel monoliths into more modern, modular, and maintainable systems.

• Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise elegant solutions to mitigate these issues across the entire stack.

• Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, write automated tests (PHPUnit, Pest, Vitest, Cypress/Playwright), and uphold our engineering standards.

Requirements (What makes you a great fit)

• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development.

• Frontend Mastery: Deep understanding of modern React (Hooks, Context, SSR/SSG patterns) and routing libraries (specifically React Router / Remix).

• Backend Proficiency: Strong experience with MVC frameworks, ideally Laravel/PHP, including Eloquent ORM, middleware, and job queues.

• Database Chops: Solid understanding of relational databases, complex query optimization, and schema design.

• System Knowledge: Comfort navigating and deploying in a Linux terminal environment.

• Mindset: A strong preference for open-source tools over proprietary, vendor-locked services. You know how to read source code when documentation falls short.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with self-hosted infrastructure and Docker.

• Daily driver of a Linux distribution (like Fedora).

• Active contributor to open-source projects (share your GitHub/GitLab!).

• Experience with WebSockets, caching layers (Redis), and background job processing.
