Diesel Generator Engineer

2. Job Responsibilities

1. Equipment Scheme Design & Equipment Selection Be familiar with the overall design scheme of diesel generator sets, storage tanks, fuel supply pipelines and intelligent control systems. Master the performance, parameters and application scenarios of mainstream generator brands in the industry. Cooperate with projects to optimize generator system schemes, complete equipment selection, and verify the auxiliary design of fuel and control systems. Ensure the generator system for DC projects is compliant, stable and adapted to project operating conditions.

2. Equipment Installation, Commissioning, Handover & Acceptance Participate in the whole process including equipment receiving coordination, on-site installation, pipeline routing, electrical wiring and system commissioning of diesel generators. Conduct no-load and load tests in strict accordance with industry technical standards and project specifications, and accurately verify operating parameters and working condition data. Organize, check and archive project technical documents, complete equipment commissioning handover and delivery acceptance to ensure smooth project delivery.

3. Routine Inspection & Preventive Maintenance Carry out daily inspection and periodic start-up tests for diesel generator sets, backup fuel supply systems and supporting control systems in equipment rooms. Regularly monitor equipment status and tank fuel level, coordinate fuel replenishment in a timely manner, and perform routine maintenance including three-filter replacement, engine oil change, pipeline overhaul and battery maintenance. Implement standardized O&M specifications to guarantee 24-hour standby readiness and reliable start-up under emergency conditions.

4. Troubleshooting & Emergency Repair Respond promptly to equipment failures and emergencies. Perform on-site diagnosis, fault localization and preliminary handling for common issues such as failure to start, abnormal noise, high/low coolant/oil temperature, unstable output voltage, control system alarms, fuel leakage and power supply abnormality. Coordinate with manufacturer technicians for complicated faults, complete emergency repairs efficiently, restore normal operation in the shortest time and mitigate power supply risks for the project.

5. Record Management & Data Summary Fill in inspection logs, maintenance records, fault reports and equipment operation data sheets in a standardized manner. Accurately archive core information including equipment status, maintenance schedules, spare parts replacement records, root causes of faults and disposal results. Establish complete equipment O&M files, regularly summarize operation, maintenance and fault data and compile periodic O&M reports.

6. Equipment Optimization & Consumable Control Analyze operating conditions of generator sets periodically. Propose reasonable optimization plans for equipment retrofit, spare parts replacement and system upgrade targeting equipment aging, excessive wear, unstable performance and poor system compatibility. Take charge of inventory counting, requisition and stock control of dedicated generator consumables and spare parts to guarantee matching specifications and sufficient stock for continuous maintenance activities.

3. Job Requirements

1. Residency & Assignment Requirements Algerian national or local resident holding valid Algerian work permit. Able to work in Algeria on a long-term basis, follow company arrangements and accept cross-city business trips and on-site assignments within Algeria.

2. Education & Major Requirements College diploma or above, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Automation, Power Engineering or related disciplines. Graduated from accredited local Algerian institutions or holder of officially recognized equivalent academic certificate.

3. Work Experience Requirements Minimum 3 years of working experience in project delivery, on-site installation & commissioning or on-site O&M of diesel generators from OEMs. Candidates with prior experience in data center (DC) generator delivery and O&M are preferred.

4. Professional Competency Requirements Proficient in full-cycle work of diesel generator set system design, equipment selection, on-site installation, parameter commissioning, daily O&M and fault handling. Familiar with the structural principles of fuel system, electrical circuit, control system, cooling and exhaust system of generators. Master O&M standards and troubleshooting methods under various operating conditions, capable of independently completing project delivery and daily O&M.

5. Language Requirements Fluent in English for daily work. Able to read, draft and consolidate English technical documents independently, and conduct on-site business liaison, technical communication and cross-department collaboration smoothly.

6. Comprehensive Quality Requirements Strong capability to assess on-site emergencies and implement emergency response, able to efficiently resolve technical issues during project O&M and equipment commissioning. Meticulous, responsible and strictly abide by safety production regulations. Possess strong safety awareness, professional ethics and teamwork spirit, and comply with project arrangements.
