Job Summary
The Data Center FO Engineer ensures 24/7 operational stability by monitoring system alarms, responding to incidents, dispatching tasks, and performing night-shift facility patrols. This role acts as the first line of defense for data center uptime, security, and incident resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- 24/7 Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor DC facility, ICT equipment, network, cloud platform and applications via tools.
- First responder to alarms/events (hardware failures, environmental alerts, network outages) and escalate per SOPs.
- Execute immediate remediation (e.g., rebooting devices, failover procedures) to minimize downtime.
- Task Dispatch & Tracking
- Assign and track troubleshooting tasks to BO/FM teams using ticketing tools.
- Document actions taken, root causes, and resolutions in incident reports.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Network, Cloud, Facilities) for complex issues.
- Night-Shift Facility Patrols
- Conduct physical inspections of server rooms and DC facility systems.
- Report anomalies (leaks, unusual noises, unauthorized access) to management.
- Operational Compliance
- Follow change management procedures during maintenance windows.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years in NOC/data center operations, with exposure to 24/7 shift work.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- CCNA, CCNP, HCIA, HCIP or Cloud related cert
- Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of servers, network devices, and DCIM tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware (e.g., disk/NIC replacements) and network connectivity (ping, traceroute).
- Soft Skills
- Alertness and ability to prioritize under pressure.
- Clear communication for shift handovers and incident reports.
Working Conditions
- Rotating shifts (nights/weekends/holidays) with on-site presence.
