Head of Ocean Freight

At DHL Global Forwarding Algeria we are looking for a Head of Ocean Freight (m/f) to join our team in Algiers, reporting to the Managing Director Algeria. This position is part of the Senior Management Team of DHL Global Forwarding Algeria.

What do we expect from you as part of the forwarding leading company?

- Lead the Ocean Freight Product (OFR) in Algeria, ensuring maximum efficiency and achievement in terms of Excellence in Quality, Productivity, Market Share and Profitability, following the parameters and objectives set by the organization.

- You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects related to our comprehensive ocean-freight services.

- You will manage and support the daily ocean freight forwarding activities of the ops team

- Direct Responsible of the P&L of the company

- Seek constantly and systematically, using the First Choice methodology (continuous improvement), to improve services and processes, launching new services and products, generating ideas that help our organization within the OFR Product to be the Market Leader in terms of Volume, Turnover, Profitability, Productivity and Quality in Algeria, following the parameters and objectives set by the organization.

- Ensure that all product-related personnel have the necessary training and experience to meet the high expectations of our customers.

- Responsible for the negotiation and purchasing of services required by the product, based on local needs.

- In-depth knowledge in the logistics industry especially the Ocean freight product both imports and exports procedures.

- Have already worked in a freight forwarding or shipping line company

- Very good analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

- Presentation and communication skills.

- Proactive and able to work under pressure.

- Strong customer orientation and strong negotiation skills.

- Results driven

- Team Management: people oriented.
