HSE supervisor-Biosimilar

Professionnal Knowledge :

•  In-depth knowledge of Algerian HSE legislation and associated decrees.

•  Mastery of biological risk management, biosafety levels (BSL-1 to BSL-3), and containment protocols.

•  Strong understanding of GMP/GLP environments and pharmaceutical/biotech manufacturing processes.

•  Proficiency in chemical hazard management (REACH, CLP/GHS classification, SDS management).

•  Expertise in environmental management systems (ISO 14001) and occupational health management  systems (ISO 45001).

•  Knowledge of fire prevention, emergency response planning, and crisis management procedures.

•  Familiarity with WHO guidelines for pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory biosafety.

•  Experience with HSE management tools: LOTO, JSA, HAZOP, risk registers, CAPA systems.

•  Proficiency in HSE KPI monitoring, dashboard reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

•  Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent recognized HSE qualification is a strong asset.

Executive & Technical Duties

1. Operational HSE supervision

•    Ensure daily HSE presence on the ground in production areas, laboratories and utilities.

•    Ensure compliance with HSE, biosafety and GMP rules.

•    Identify hazardous situations and implement immediate corrective actions.

2. Biological & chemical risk management

•    Oversee the management of risks related to biological products, GMOs, chemical agents and solvents.

•    Monitor the application of biosafety, containment and decontamination procedures.

•    Ensure the proper management of biological and chemical waste.

3. Regulatory compliance

•    Ensure compliance with Algerian HSE regulations and international standards (WHO, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

•    Participate in internal/external inspections and audits (ANPP, local authorities).

•    Keep the site's HSE documentation up to date.

4. Training & awareness

•    Lead HSE, biosafety and occupational safety training sessions.

•    Raise staff awareness of best practices and safe behaviours.

•    Support new arrivals (HSE induction).

5. Incident management & reporting

•    Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses.

•    Implement and monitor CAPA actions.

•    Ensure HSE reporting (indicators, dashboards).

6. Cross-functional coordination

•    Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance.

•    Participate in risk analyses (JSA, HAZOP, Risk Assessment).

•    Contribute to continuous HSE improvement projects.
