Packet Core Design Engineer

Mission générale du poste

Responsible for providing technical expertise in core network functions such as complex system design, engineering, optimization, integration, implementation and end user support for national mobile network.

Delivers solutions and support for all Core Network systems, applications including but not limited to NFV (Network Function Virtualization), DNS, SS7 applications, VoIP, IMS, VoLTE, DNS, mobile number portability and all switching function for both PS and CS domain that specifically impact the business in relation to the Internet, telephony, communication within virtualized environment.

A key position that ensures a day-to-day tracking and interaction with several stakeholders and vendors are carried out to guarantee that the offered services are delivered on time.

Taches Principales

· To provide hands-on expertise in planning, designing and deploying of complex communication network through GPRS-2G, UMTS-3G, LTE-4G, IMS and VoLTE within virtualized environment.
· To analyse nominal designs and dimensioning reports that are prepared by vendors for all NE component DNS / EPC / VAS equipment ….
· To analyse nominal designs and dimensioning reports that are prepared by vendors to guarantee that network was planned according to requirements.
· To carry out budget and investment planning for expansion and new functionality implementation and expansion needs.
· To analyse Core Network vendor roadmaps’ and to evaluate new products, features and technologies for new service deployments.
· To perform technical analysis of Core Network SW features and make proposals for sets that will be applied in Core Network domain. To assess the necessity of Core Network HW/SW upgrades in order meet to business requirements and make execution plans accordingly.
· To create and evaluate Technical Requirement Specifications and/or Request For Information/Proposal/Quotation documentations for Core Network systems and projects.
· Ensure that the Core related KPI’s are tracked and followed up with the related teams to ensure that all issues are identified and sorted out, before there is a risk to the network.
· Identification of possible failures and optimization potential.

Contraintes du poste/Conditions spécifiques

· High flexibility and willingness to travel domestic and international is required.

· Deskwork with some lab/Data Center/MSC room testing requires ability to sit or stand throughout normal workday.

· Ability to function in a dynamic group environment requiring frequent interruptions.

· Willingness to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in support of a 24/7.

Valid drive license.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

In-depth knowledge of Cellular core systems including 2G, 3G and 4G networks, knowledge of VoLTE/IMS/DNS core capabilities and functions are a must.

Detailed knowledge in the area of SS7/Sigtran and related protocols, expertise on analyzing, designing, dimensioning, rollout, auditing and optimization of core network elements, including IMS.
