Procurement Deputy Manager

Position summary

• The Procurement Deputy Manager supports the Procurement Manager in running the full procurement cycle and stands in for them when absent.

• Key responsibilities

  • Team management: assist the Procurement Manager in planning, organising and supervising the procurement team, and act as deputy in their absence.

  • Sourcing: issue price inquiries for materials, equipment and services, and prepare technical and commercial bid comparisons.

  • Bidding and negotiation: run bidding processes, and lead price and contract negotiations with suppliers.

  • Order execution: follow up purchase orders through to delivery, including expediting and logistics.

  • Goods arrival inspection: organise inspection and receipt of goods on arrival, and resolve non-conformities with suppliers.

  • Supplier base: develop and maintain reliable local suppliers and procurement channels in Algeria's petroleum industry.

  • Compliance: ensure all purchases comply with Algerian laws and regulations and with company procedures.

  • Reporting: report on procurement status, costs and risks to management.
