Manage, review, and verify all import documentation to ensure compliance with customs regulations, banking requirements, and company procedures.
Coordinate the preparation and availability of required import documents before shipment arrival to ensure timely customs clearance and avoid demurrage, detention, and penalty charges.
Maintain accurate records of import documents, shipment files, and compliance requirements.
Coordinate and monitor international payment processes with suppliers and financial institutions, including Letter of Credit (LC), Documentary Remittance, and bank transfers (TT).
Manage payment follow-up for offshore suppliers and local customs forwarders in coordination with the Finance Department to ensure timely settlement of obligations.
Support finance planning and budgeting activities by providing accurate forecasts of upcoming import-related payments, including supplier payments, freight costs, customs duties, and other related expenses.
Planning, control, and storage of the delivery and distribution of Finished Goods by managing the best combination of transportation and stock levels at FG Warehouse, Raw Materials Warehouse, and Customer Warehouse to ensure demand from sales branches is prioritized and fulfilled on time and in compliance with legal requirements.
Control, follow up, and approve all required documentation related to the Finished Goods Distribution process to ensure legal requirements are met.
Coordinate all Returns Logistics activities related to finished goods, including the required steps for final disposal, while actively supporting initiatives to maximize the benefits of Returns Logistics.
Plan and control operations at the Finished Goods Warehouse regarding product receipt from the factory.
Ensure product integrity and traceability throughout the distribution process.
Implement and follow up procedures to comply with BAT EH&S standards throughout logistics operations, providing employees with a safe working environment.
Drive all activities required to deliver KPIs, Service Level, and Stock Holding targets for products within the scope of BAT's CMA Agreement with external entities.
Provide the Logistics department with direction and priorities, ensuring alignment ("line of sight") with BAT strategies at all times.
Lead, motivate, and develop the Logistics Team to drive the organisational agenda.
Develop a high-performance culture within the Logistics department through effective coaching and training to maximize team potential.
Manage and develop team capabilities to support succession planning and career development.
Maintain an effective control environment within the Supply Chain function and related internal and external areas, ensuring BAT best practices are applied in all business dealings.
Attend Local SC & SNO DDS Drumbeats, ensuring timely information flow across stakeholders and driving OTIF actions.
Actively participate in the IWS continuous improvement journey and deliver actions for Phase Readiness in line with SN Pillar requirements.
Develop and manage close working relationships with End Markets, other stakeholders, and OLTs to create a better understanding of the BAT Algeria factory.
Seek new and improved alternatives for OTIF transportation and optimized warehousing.
Capture innovative ideas for improvement and ensure approved ideas are successfully implemented.
Continuously review established processes, systems, and procedures to respond to the increasing complexity of the distribution network and meet customer needs in the most efficient manner.
Define an improved reporting system for hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Maintain a document management process for regulatory reporting and historical records that is easily accessible at any time.
Assign roles and responsibilities, monitor workflows, and ensure full visibility throughout the verification process.
Cooperate with the employer in maintaining safe working conditions and immediately report dangerous situations or workplace incidents.
Ensure the effective functioning of the labour protection system by:
Undergoing mandatory occupational safety training before assuming duties.
Monitoring the safe operation of equipment, vehicles, and production assets.
Ensuring subordinate employees receive required training, briefings, internships, and safety instruction.
Monitoring compliance with Algerian legislation, BAT EH&S standards, and internal procedures.
Conducting regular workplace safety inspections.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to EH&S, fire safety, environmental protection, and industrial sanitation.
Developing and reviewing labour protection procedures and instructions.
Ensuring legal admission-to-work procedures are followed.
Maintaining labour protection documentation and submitting required reports.
Monitoring employees' periodic medical examinations.
Conducting workplace risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures.
Taking immediate action in the event of workplace accidents or emergencies.
Developing business continuity documentation for emergency situations.
The jobholder reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for:
Operating within the Oran Factory, as well as external logistics locations including Algiers Warehouse, external warehouses in Oran and Algiers, Dry Ports, etc.
Communicating with relevant stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with company standards.
University degree in Engineering.
Minimum of five years' experience in Supply Chain Planning or Logistics Management.
Good knowledge of EH&S standards and warehouse operations.
Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to understand and apply costing and budgetary principles.
Ability to develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems, and producing effective solutions.
Proficiency in using information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle, inventory levels, delivery times, and total logistics costs.
Successful performance will be measured by:
Providing timely feedback on performance indicators to enable effective corrective actions.
Implementing systems and procedures to manage quality, waste, absenteeism, and discipline.
Delivering Logistics KPI Dashboard targets (Target vs. Actual).
Maintaining strong relationships with the Planning Department and commercial customers to optimize Finished Goods stock management.
