Job overview : The Feed Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day, shift-level execution of feed mixing, preparation, and delivery for an assigned team, ensuring approved rations are prepared and distributed accurately, on schedule, and to the required quality and hygiene standards. The role supervises feed center operators and equipment during the shift and escalates any deviation, shortage, or quality issue to the line manager rather than adjusting feeding programs independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Shift Execution of Feed Mixing & TMR Preparation

Supervise the accurate preparation of Total Mixed Rations (TMR) and other feed formulations during the assigned shift, strictly following the approved mixing sheets and ration specifications.

Feed Delivery & Bunk Monitoring

Ensure timely and consistent delivery of feed to assigned pens and bunks according to the feeding schedule, and report bunk conditions, refusals, or intake irregularities as required.

Feed Center Operators & Equipment Oversight

Directly supervise feed center operators during the shift, and oversee the safe day-to-day operation of mixer wagons, loaders, and weighing equipment, reporting equipment faults or maintenance needs promptly.

Feed Stock Handling

Handle and monitor on-site feed and raw material stock during the shift, including basic storage checks and rotation, and flag any shortage or quality concern ahead of time.

Shift Team Coordination

Assign and coordinate daily tasks among feed center operators for the shift, monitor their adherence to mixing and delivery protocols, and provide on-the-job guidance.

Escalation & Reporting

Report shift feed usage, deliveries, incidents, and any deviation from approved rations or schedules to the line manager, without making independent changes to feeding programs or ration composition.

Shift Records

Maintain accurate shift-level records of mixing logs, feed deliveries, and stock movements for handover and traceability purposes.

Health, Safety & Hygiene Compliance

Ensure feed handling, mixing, and delivery activities during the shift comply with HSE, food/feed safety, and hygiene standards, and reinforce safe work practices among feed center operators.

Required Profile :

Education Requirements: Technical Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field; a Bachelor's Degree is an advantage but not required.

Basic training in feed mixing or TMR equipment operation is an advantage.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in dairy farm or feed mill operations, including direct experience with TMR mixing and feed delivery equipment.

Some prior experience coordinating or guiding a small team on a shift basis is an advantage.

Practical, working-level knowledge of feed ingredients and feeding schedules for dairy cattle, sufficient to execute approved rations accurately.
